SimXpert to ADAMS migration for Boeing
FEAD collaborated with Hexagon MI to help Boeing's transition from SimXpert to ADAMS. This project mainly involved development of a Python-based too with a comprehensive set of Python classes to model the flexible representation of an aircraft.
Advanced Model Debugging and Analysis Support for NASA Goddard Solar Array Development for James Webb
Solar array simulation commonly requires flexible body dynamics modeling, which can lead to complex MBD models. This project involved model refinement, study of modal damping and debugging of a mature model for James Webb Telescope.
Small Satellite Release Mechanism Development for European Agency
Complex flexible body dynamics modeling of contact-heavy MBD models can be quite challenging. This project involved model building, 3D, 2D and 1D contact modeling, CMS for FEA modal reduction and baseline analysis of the release assembly of a small satellite project.
Advanced Model Debugging and Analysis Support for Small Satellite Release Mechanism (Confidential)
Complex flexible body dynamics modeling of contact-heavy MBD models can be quite challenging. This project involved top tier support for model development and debugging of a complex satellite release mechanism model. The main challenges in this project were related to choosing and tuning proper integrators in the CAE tool, i.e., the ADAMS software package.
Notional Design Consultation and Process Planning for Robotics Modeling for Dog-like Robots
This projects mainly consisted of high-level advisory consultation for in-house R&D work of a startup robotics company. FEAD mainly helped with process planning and notional design challenges at beginning phase of of the R&D efforts.
Stochastic analysis of model parameters and validation of the simulation data using Monte Carlo Automator tool was the main solution provided by FEAD.
Seat Modeling and Benchmarking for Fisher Dynamics
Contact mechanics and friction dynamics involved a complex feedback-loop type of analysis that complicates the debugging of MBD models. This project involves process planning, debugging, MC automation and top tier Solver sensitivity analysis of seat models.
CVT Modeling and Complex Contact Analysis for GM
The analysis of CVT design to study and confirm the natural frequencies of the system is key for new CVT's. However, the stochastic analysis of outputs vs inputs can be quite challenging due to the level of complexity that needs to be modeled. Therefore, it is of critical important to fine tune the model in order to achieve the shortest run times. This project mainly involved fine-tuning and simplifying the full flex CVT model of GM to achieve smaller run times with an acceptable level of accuracy as nonlinear transient FEA representation of the same system.
